Help Is On the Way
April brought many changes in health care reform implementation in Illinois: the Health Insurance Marketplace team released its Outreach & Education Plan, the Navigator grant application was released by the federal government and Illinois received a sizable grant from the federal government to help with consumer assistance. Now the remaining piece of the puzzle is what the In Person Assistance program will look like in Illinois. If you want to join another organization or entity to apply for the Navigator or (soon to be announced) In-Person Assister grants, check out the Matchmaking Spreadsheet mentioned here. And don't forget - Illinois still needs to pass its Medicaid Expansion bill in order to provide affordable health care to the uninsured so urge your Legislators to vote for SB 26.
